The Alien Test

Lloyd folded his arms and looked at Tommy very seriously.

“You are an alien,” he said firmly. “You should just admit it.”

Tommy stared at him for a moment, still holding the bottle of milk.

Then he sighed.

A long, tired sigh—the kind people made when they had to deal with something extremely annoying.

“I am not an alien,” Tommy said.

“That’s exactly what an alien would say,” Lloyd replied immediately.

Tommy rubbed his forehead.

“You also cook like a professional chef,” Lloyd continued. “You read eight hundred pages in fifteen minutes. You solved my math homework. And you disappeared earlier!”

“I went outside,” Tommy said.

“Suspicious!” Lloyd declared.

Tommy shook his head slowly.

“I am going back to bed.”

He walked past Lloyd without another word, returned to his room, and closed the door.

Then there was a small click.

He locked it.

Lloyd stood in the hallway, staring at the door.

“Definitely an alien,” he whispered.

Lloyd returned to the living room, thinking hard.

If Tommy really was an alien, Lloyd needed proof.

And the best way to prove something… was science.

“Experiments,” Lloyd said, snapping his fingers.

He grabbed his notebook again and began writing.

Alien Detection Plan

Step 1: Intelligence tests.
Step 2: Observe behavior.
Step 3: Confirm alien identity.

Lloyd nodded.

“This will work.”

The next morning, sunlight filled the living room.

Tommy walked out of his room, stretching and yawning.

Then he stopped.

On the table sat several objects arranged very neatly.

A puzzle.

A Rubik’s cube.

A thick math book with nearly five hundred pages.

And a large dictionary.

Lloyd stood beside the table with his arms crossed like a scientist preparing an experiment.

“Good morning,” Lloyd said.

Tommy looked at the table.

Then at Lloyd.

Then back at the table.

“What is this?” Tommy asked.

“A test,” Lloyd said proudly.

Tommy sighed.

He picked up the puzzle first.

Within a few seconds, the pieces slid perfectly into place.

Done.

Lloyd’s confident smile shrank slightly.

Tommy picked up the Rubik’s cube.

He twisted it once.

Twice.

Three times.

Five seconds later, all the colors were perfectly aligned.

Done.

Lloyd slowly blinked.

Tommy opened the math book.

He flipped through several pages, scribbled answers quickly on a sheet of paper, and closed the book.

Done.

Lloyd’s mouth slowly opened.

Tommy picked up the dictionary next.

He flipped to random pages and began reading quietly.

“‘Astronomy,’” Tommy read aloud. “The scientific study of stars, planets, and other celestial objects.”

He turned another page.

“‘Catastrophe.’ A sudden event that causes great damage.”

Another page.

“‘Meticulous.’ Showing great attention to detail.”

Tommy closed the dictionary and placed it back on the table.

“All finished,” he said.

Lloyd stared at him in horror.

“That… that took five minutes,” Lloyd whispered.

Tommy shrugged.

“Was that the test?”

Lloyd rubbed his face.

“No. There’s one more.”

Tommy waited.

Lloyd straightened up.

“Alright,” he said confidently. “Let’s see if you know this.”

Tommy crossed his arms.

“What?”

Lloyd smiled.

“The capital of Mongolia.”

He folded his arms proudly.

He had no idea what the answer was.

There was absolutely no way a three-year-old would know something like that.

Tommy answered immediately.

“Ulaanbaatar.”

The room became very quiet.

Lloyd stared at him.

“…What?”

“Ulaanbaatar,” Tommy repeated calmly. “It’s the capital of Mongolia.”

Lloyd slowly sank into a chair.

His voice dropped to a whisper.

“Oh no.”

Tommy tilted his head.

“What?”

Lloyd looked at him with wide eyes.

“You’re definitely an alien.”

🌀 What Just Happened?
