In the hallway, Jamie leaned against the wall, trying so hard to act like the “perfect student” she had promised herself she’d be. But inside, her patience was crumbling.
Finally, she snapped.
Without warning, she yanked off her shoe and hurled it.
SMACK!
It hit Max right in the shoulder.
“OWWW!” Max yelled. “What was THAT for?!”
Jamie smirked. “For existing.”
Before Max could even recover, Samantha smirked. “Wow, Jamie. You’re such a goody goody goof ball.”
Jamie’s eye twitched.
POW! She punched Samantha in the arm.
“OWWW! AGAIN?! WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME?!” Samantha shrieked.
“Because you never learn,” Jamie said sweetly.
Then, for good measure, Jamie stepped right on Andrew’s foot.
“AGHHHHHH! MY TOES!” Andrew cried.
Jamie stretched her arms out dramatically. “FINALLY! I’M FREE! NO MORE PERFECT JAMIE!”
Back at home, Jamie sat on the couch, arms crossed. “I’m done with homework. Done. Finished. Over it.”
To prove her point, she snatched Lilly’s teddy bear, marched upstairs, and shoved it deep into Max’s wardrobe.
When Lilly eventually found it, she gasped. “MAX STOLE MY BEAR!”
She stormed into the living room and hurled the bear at him.
WHUMP!
“AGHHHHH!” Max groaned. “WHY IS THIS BEAR ALWAYS ATTACKING ME?!”
In the hallway, Mom was searching frantically.
“Where is it?!” she wailed.
“Where’s what?” Dad asked.
“My wardrobe!” Mom cried. “It was right here this morning and now it’s gone!”
Dad blinked. “How do you lose an entire wardrobe?!”
Mom threw her hands up. “You tell me! This family loses microwaves. A wardrobe is nothing!”
