Jamie marched into school with her head held high. For once, she looked serious. She had all her books, her pens were neatly stacked, and her homework was done.
Samantha smirked at her. “Morning, Miss Mean Face.”
Normally, Jamie would’ve launched a punch immediately. But today she just smiled tightly. “Not today, Samantha. I’m turning over a new leaf.”
Samantha blinked. “Wait… you didn’t hit me?!”
Jamie straightened her shoulders. “Nope. I am a serious, perfect student now.”
Samantha fainted right there in the hallway.
Meanwhile, Max strolled past, snatching Jamie’s homework right out of her hands.
“Thank you very much,” Max said cheerfully, as he whistled his way down the corridor.
But then—SLIP!
Max’s foot landed on something soft and squishy. He slid, arms flailing, and crashed to the floor.
On the ground was Buffalo’s teddy bear.
“MR. SQUISHY WUSHY!” Buffalo roared, scooping up his bear and glaring at Max.
Max groaned from the floor. “Why is this thing always in my way?!”
Later in class, Jamie reached into her bag with a confident smile. “Time to show off my flawless homework.”
She pulled out… nothing.
Her eyes widened. “WHAT?! Where is it?!”
Her temper boiled over.
SMAAACK! Jamie punched Samantha right in the arm.
“OWWWW! What did I do?!” Samantha wailed.
Jamie gasped. “Sorry!” Then immediately kicked her under the desk.
“OWWW AGAIN!” Samantha cried.
“I said sorry!” Jamie barked.
Still fuming, Jamie yanked out her phone and furiously typed a storm of angry messages to Max:
GIVE. ME. BACK. MY. HOMEWORK.
MAX. I WILL END YOU.
WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!
Then, still on edge, Jamie turned to Ava, who was just quietly sitting nearby.
POW! Jamie punched Ava on the shoulder.
“HEY! What was THAT for?!” Ava snapped.
Jamie threw her hands up. “Collateral damage!”
Meanwhile, Andrew wandered into class barefoot, looking lost.
“Uh… has anyone seen my shoes?” he asked.
“Andrew…” Sarah groaned, “how do you LOSE SHOES?”
Andrew shrugged. “I dunno. They were on my feet this morning… and now they’re not.”
The class groaned.
Jamie buried her head in her desk. “This school is doomed.”
🌀 What Just Happened?
- Jamie tried to act like a perfect student and didn’t punch Samantha.
- Samantha fainted from the shock.
- Max stole Jamie’s homework but slipped on Buffalo’s teddy bear.
- Jamie lost her homework, punched Samantha again, and blamed Ava for “collateral damage.”
- Andrew showed up to class barefoot because he lost his shoes.
